An anonymous online casino has stated they will repay a large sum of money to a player who lost funds when her bank roll was embezzled. The arrangement between the Swedish casino and the player remains confidential. The arrangement was set up between the two after a woman in charge of the firm’s financial department gambled away large sums of the company’s funds.

The woman in charge of the funds stated she suffers from compulsive gambling issues and her actions caused the company to lay off workers and report losses for what would have normally been a profitable year. A court in Sweden sentenced the lady to three years in prison and she was fined over $1.3 million for her actions.

A prosecutor in the case commented: “it’s obvious that the gaming company understood that something was wrong. If the woman’s account of how the company acted is accurate, she has definitely been used and therefore it’s appropriate for a repayment to take place.”
