Ohio Supporters for New Casinos Criticize New Anti-Casino Advertisement
Issue 3 is a campaign in Ohio that will see four new casinos built if it is passed. Supporters of Issue 3 are criticizing a new television ad campaign that features domestic violence and burning buildings in relation to the new casinos. The advertisement is anti-casinos and the supporters of the new casino movement take issue with the new ads.

The ad was created by the group Families Against Issue 3 and it states “Casinos kill families…and communities as well.” Bob Tennenbaum is a spokesperson for the pro-Issue 3 organizing group Ohio Jobs and Growth Committee and he says this ad crosses the line.

Tennenbaum commented: “It’s the most misleading, disgusting and despicable TV ad I’ve seen in a political campaign in Ohio, and I’ve been around political campaigns for 40 years. It’s shameful really. It’s things blowing up and things burning down. It’s an apocalypse movie compressed into 30 seconds. Prostitution, guns, heaven knows what any of that has to do with Issue 3. If I were involved in it I would be apologizing to voters. “

Families Against Issue 3 has not made a statement in response to Tennenbaum’s statement. It could be that the new advertisement scares off many voters for the bill as it could be considered a scare tactic with the images shown on the advertisement.
