New Vegas Casino Opens to Much Fanfare
The grand opening of the MGM Mirage’s new resort and casino took place just a few days ago and the opening was a very celebrated event. The new resort has taken more than five years to complete as well as $8.5 billion but it is now finished and open for business. The official opening of the new casino, Aria, was much anticipated and a large crowd gathered outside waiting to go inside and see the large new resort. The doors opened just before midnight and thousands of people entered the new casino to check it out.
Many worried that the casino would never open as the economy suffered a downturn during the building process. Now that the casino is complete, many are questioning whether or not the casino will do well, as the economy is still in a slump.
Bill McBeath the President and C.O.O. of Aria commented: “I think the economic storm has kinda subsided. We’re at the tail-end, I believe, of what we’re calling the great recession. Our bookings, our customers, the anticipation, excitement surrounding CityCenter and Aria are so incredible, we believe it’s gonna be the catalyst of revitalization of Las Vegas.”
