The Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada has decided to install twelve PokerPro tables in a new poker room at the casino. The PokerPro tables are being installed by PokerTek, a creator of automated poker tables and related software. The new poker room will be open for the first time on Friday August 22nd at 6 pm. The Excalibur Casino will be the official field trial site for the PokerPro tables in the state of Nevada and also the first casino in the state to install automated poker tables.

PokerTek’s Chief Executive Officer, Chris Halligan, has stated that the company is “delighted” that the Excalibur is opening a room solely dedicated to the PokerPro tables. Halligan believes this move shows how far the Company has come in such a short time period. Halligan also stated: "The acceptance of the game has grown substantially in the last year and continues to grow as our footprint expands."

PokerTek’s Western Regional Director had this to say about the deal with the Excalibur: "I've run poker rooms for 20 years, and I can't wait for players to see what Excalibur and PokerPro will offer them. We’re going to have a great daily tournament schedule, tremendous player promotions and, more than that, we'll be laying down games that manual rooms just can't. For example, our Pot Limit Omaha games will be getting out 30 hands per hour. That is unheard of for a game as popular as PLO, and only PokerPro can offer that kind of speed."
With so many good reviews for the PokerPro software, players should enjoy the experience.

But the new software technologies have many employed by casinos worried. Dealers can lose their jobs, if certain types of software are installed. Most of the new software eliminates the need for real life dealers.
