The Silver Dollar Casino in Calgary is going to be operating under new management as Century Casinos Inc. has agreed to purchase the property for $10.6 million. the Century company is going to run the Silver Dollar Casino with their Austrian subsidiary and they will be talking over the parent company’s outstanding common stock as well.

Century owns and operates several properties in Colorado as well as Edmonton’s Century Casino and Hotel. The company is looking to expand their business in Alberta; this is according to Larry Hannappel the company’s senior vice president.

Hannappel commented in a recent interview that ‘all of Alberta is a good market for us. We feel like this casino in Calgary is a good fit for the company.’ Century was able to obtain the Silver Dollar Casino for about half of what the former owner received two years ago when he sold the casino. Frank Sisson earned $22 million when he sold to Evergreen Gaming Corp. the buyers then fell into hard financial status when the casino economy began to collapse.
