The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) announced recently they will be launching a new website where players who live in British Colombia can play online casino style games. Players will be able to visit the PlayNow website and enjoy games such as roulette, poker and blackjack.

The new games should go live by the end of March and any revenues earned by the site will go to the government to be used for various charities. The BCLC released a statement which read: “British Columbians currently spend an estimated $87 million each year gambling on approximately 2,000 available unregulated offshore Internet gambling websites. PlayNow will offer online players the option to play casino-style games such as blackjack, roulette and poker on a secure and regulated website while helping to keep online gaming revenues in British Columbia.”

The site also offers players the ability to set their weekly deposit limit to any amount from one Canadian dollar to up to $9,999. The site is restricted to players in British Columbia and players must be nineteen years of age to play the games. Each playing session will have a display which shows the player how long they have been online and responsible gambling reminders as well as facts on the odds of winning will be displayed as the player plays.
