Avid Gambler Sues Australian Casino
Most everyone understands that when you gamble at a casino you may lose. There is no guarantee that you will walk away with any money and most of the time you walk away with less than you had to begin with. But no one expects a casino to lure you to lose money. Harry Kakavas is a high roller in Australia and thinks differently. Harry is suing the Crown Casino in Melbourne stating they lured him to gamble after he lost a substantial amount gambling at other casinos.

Harry is a property developer and apparently a problem gambler. He is suing the casino for A$50million in damages after he played baccarat in 2007 and lost A$37 million. During that time Harry was banned from every casino in Australia and had been since 2004, so he took a trip to the United States. It is believed that executives at the Crown worked to lure Harry back to their casino to lose more money.

Court documents have been released in Melbourne that allege emails were sent out that detail a plan created by the Crown casino to pull Harry back to the casino to wager more money. This plan was allegedly created after managers found out Harry had lost millions gambling in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Documents were also released that stated Harry wore a recorder that was concealed that captured managers at the Crown casino attempting to get Harry to come back to the baccarat tables. Both Rowen Craigie and John Williams could face serious claims of misconduct. Craigie is the chief executive for the Crown and Williams is the chief operating officer.
