A great way for a land casino to earn extra revenue is to keep the casino open for a twenty four hour period. The no closing option allows players to continue to gamble and party the night away without having to stop because the casino is closing. Gala Casino in Aberdeen just recently received their first twenty four hour gaming license and will now operate around the clock.

The Aberdeen City Council gave the Gala Casino permission to operate around the clock at their Summer Street location. The board voted three to two to allow the casino to run twenty four hours a day. The casino will be able to operate gaming services around the clock but they will not be able to sell alcoholic beverages on a twenty four hour basis.

The decision did not come without criticism. The Church of Scotland claimed the twenty four hour gaming option would be put vulnerable gamblers at risk. Officials of the church say it gives the ‘wrong signals’ to society.

A representative of Gala Coral, the owner of Gala casino, commented on the decision to keep the Aberdeen casino open twenty four hours: “We already have licenses for fifteen of our casinos in the UK to permit twenty four hour gaming and are pleased to be able to offer our customers in Aberdeen this facility and greater flexibility in the hours that we can provide gaming at this casino.”
