Online casino operator, 888 has reported a 38 percent growth in first quarter income this week. They reported $64 million in net revenue which is up $47 million from last year. They also stated that so far the second quarter revenues are looking just as strong.

Online casino game growth accounted for much of the increased take as their casino games brought in $35 million dollars. This is a 35 percent rise in revenue while poker only produced $22 million dollars and was up by only five percent.

Their numbers are growing as well as more people are staying in rather then going to a land based casino. 888 had a 27 percent increase in the numbers of registered customers, bringing the total almost up to 5 million at the end of March.

They are now a third of the way into the second quarter and 888 said that their net gaming revenues have grown an average of 7 percent a day over the previous quarter and first time patrons had grown by 19 percent.
